Do not pass the salt
While you’re plating up your freshly steamed fish resist the urge to season
it with salt. “A high intake of salt can increase your blood pressure and your
risk of cardiovascular disease including heart, stroke and blood vessel
disease,” I keep on telling folks and my patients 'For Gods sake if you can forgo salt in your food please do. Eat something fishy'
The Heart Foundation recommends eating two to
three serves of fish, including oily fish, each week to reduce your risk of
heart disease. Fish is packed with Omega-3s — a type of polyunsaturated fat
essential for a healthy heart. And do not mind the foolish talk that oily fish can cause cancer, that is crap. I love me some cat fish and spiced pepper if it will give em cancer so be it.
